Oh, Sue, he's beautiful! As for training, most dogs are very food motivated, so get some yummy treats. Be cautious of dog food ingredients - read the label! Avoid corn and meat by-products. A great, healthy treat is to bake chicken and then cut it up into little pieces. I give Lucy kashi oat cereal (like cheerios) or plain rice chex for treats. When I got Lucy, she had been abused and was very hand shy. I would start with alot of petting and cuddling every day, so that Sam gets used to being handled, not only by his family, but by the vet, a future petsitter, etc. Keep us posted!
